This is a flard skirt. Its simple and easy to stitch. Now lets see how to stitch a skirt like the below one.
The stitching pattern for the flard skirt is drawn . Im gonna give you the readymade measurement. You can use your measurement using inch tape.
waist = 50 cm
skirt length = 25 cm
a-b = waist/4 = 12.5 cm
b-d = skirt length + 1.5 = 26.5 cm
a-d & d-e = 12.5 + 26.5 = 39 cm
b-f = waist / 4 = 12.5 cm
Using the above readymade measurement we can stitch a flard skirt. Now lets see how to stitch a real time skirt. Take the cloth to be stitched. First fold the cloth breadthwise next lengthwise like the one shown below.
Next draw the stitching pattern using the measurements given above or your own. Place it on the cloth to be stitched. Mark the edges using a marking chalk. Then cut them carefully without disturbing them.
After you cut the cloth , you get seperate two pieces (front and back) . First fold the bottom and stitch them , next join one side of the skirt. Next cut a small belt like the one below. This part has to be attached to the waist part.
After you attach the belt to the waist part , stitch and join the other side of the skirt. Leave a small opening for the hooks to be stitched. Thats it your skirt and is ready like the one below.HOW TO
SEW CUTTORI BLOUSE
A cuttori blouse is slightly different from the normal saree blouse. Cuttori blouses are used normally to mingle two colours in the front part. Now i will teach the pattern for the cuttori blouse.
First step is to learn the normal blouse if else you'll find it difficult so take a look at the sari blouse post. Only one step modification is made in the cuttori blouse compared to the normal blouse. Now draw the pattern for a normal blouse. The small cut is for neck and the long cut is for armhole.
From the shoulder measure 12 inch and draw a straight line . In the above image you can see the red line at a distance of 12 inch. Next mark 1/2 inch above on both ends of red line and below center of red line. Next draw a curve over the red line, i've used the blue pen to draw the curve.
Next cut along the blue curve. This the procedure of the normal blouse. Next for the cuttori blouse you have to draw one more curve and cut it like the image below. This is their difference.
From the neck take a curve to the blue line curve. You can see the red curve i've drawn. Thats the only difference in cuttori blouse.
Next cut along the red curve and only one main dart is sewed in that part. You can see a triangle shape thats the place where you have to sew dart. You can use a contrast colour or the same colour. Have a perfect pattern which helps you to cut the cloth correctly.
After sewing the dart stitch them together so that agains comes back to the shape of normal blouse. Then attach the patti part and finish the whole blouse.STITCH COLLAR
This is a top with a collar. Now lets see how to stitch this top with collar. Now wearing a top with collar is highly is highley like by girls, as it can be matched to any bottom or any kind of jean.
Now take the cloth to be stitched. Just take your own top that fits you well and use an inch tape to measure the model top. The cloth to be stitched should be folded breadthwise first next fold it lengthwise like the below. You can also draw a stitching pattern to get a clear idea.
Next take measurements from the model top and mark them on the cloth using marking chalk. Remember when you want to stitch a collar to a top, you should not cut the back neck. You can only cut the front neck to your desired shape. Here in this cloth i have marked a simple round neck in the front part. Here the length of the cloth is only till waist as it is a top. After marking the cloth, cut the cloth along the markings carefully. The cloth is cut as shown below.
Next the stitching can be done, first stitch the shoulders . Then if you wish attach the sleeves else sleeveless. Then fold and stitch the bottom. Next stitch and join the sides. Always remember the collar can be stitched last.
Next we can see how to stitch a collar. First measure the length of the neck for attaching the collar. Length varies based on the needs of each person. You can keep a collar around the whole neck else to different length as shown in the diagram.
Then take the cloth to the length of the collar to be stitched. First fold the cloth breadthwise then lengthwise and cut the cloth like the one below. Next stitch along the closed side of the collar as shown in the figure and then turn it upside down so that the stitches goes inside the collar. The open side of the collar are to be stitched to the top. First stitch the centre of collar to the center of the neck so that you can have equal length of collar to both sides of the neck. Next stitch the whole collar along the neck.
After the collar is attached the top with collar is ready. Try it out.
